CREATING THE BEST OVERWATCH LEAGUE CONTENT ON YOUTUBE
Akshon Esports | Lead Video Editor
Akshon Esports, a media start-up that focused on Esports content, was gearing up in preparation for the start of the Overwatch League, the competitive circuit for Activision Blizzard’s newest shooter, Overwatch. As lead editor, I helped design templates, scripts, and video ideas and created the first video to reach a million views on the YouTube channel, making it the most viewed video on the topic to this day.
Programs used: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects
MY ROLE: CREATE ESPORTS CONTENT
Hype Intros, Motion Graphics, Montages, Analysis Pieces, Memes.
1 MILLION+ VIEWS
Thanks YouTube Algorithm
Akshonpedia, a series I piloted and produced to explain Overwatch terminology to newcomers, have succeeded in terms of viewership with the pilot episode “What is C9” reaching over a million views during my time at Akshon Esports, making it one of the most viewed videos even to this day on the channel.
AKSHONPEDIA: MY BABY
The video series which I’m personally proud of as it showcases my capability as a video editor/motion graphic artist/memer in a complete package. During my time at Akshon Esports, I wrote the script, designed the assets, and edited 9 original episodes; a one-man job.
AND MANY OTHERS
In order to become the best channel for Overwatch content, I had to come up with different products in order to cater to a wide demographic. These include hype trailers for upcoming events, translated/transcribed interviews of foreign players, and mini-documentaries of star players viewers should look out for.
